For These Tough Times: Reaching toward heaven for hope & healing
Max Lucado
Adapted from several of Max Lucado’s other books, this pocketsize book is easy reading, but offers no easy answers. Unlike many books offered about tragedy and loss, this one doesn’t offer touchy, feely easy answers.
Lucado, pastor of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, assures the reader that all people have the same questions during times of trial and pain. Making no excuses for God, the author lets the reader know that it’s not possible for us to fully understand the ways of God.
Tough times aren’t easy to live through, or explain, and Tough Times doesn’t try to pretend otherwise.
The small size makes it easy for someone to carry, and is not intimidating. Lucado’s open writing style reads like a friend’s caring letter of advice. Keep a couple copies handy: One to give away. One to use during your own time of need.
